Is atheism rational?

With the recent news about Antony Flew abandoning atheism it seems an appropriate time to link to an excellent series of exchanges between Alan Myatt and various online atheists - the kind that hang around religious discussion groups like flies around meat. Alan deals graciously with the usual juvenile banter that passes for debate from such "infidels" (and he even gets to respond to one or two more reflective atheists!). Alan demonstrates a command of his subject matter that completely outclasses his opponents. I point this out to be fair to more sophisticated atheists, for while I know that these guys are typical representatives of the online anti-God squad, I would never assume that they represent the best and most sophisticated atheist big guns like Antony Flew... even if he isn't an atheist any longer...
