The pink swastika revisited

Rohm’s Boys: The Surprising Connection Between Homosexuality and Fascism

The most surprising thing about this is that anyone really finds this "surprising" at all considering the homoerotic milleau of early Nazism (prior to Hitler's coming to power through popular support in 1933 when it was "necessary" for him to rein in its sexual excesses in favour of excesses of another more "acceptable" sort.) In the twenties and early thirties sensitive gay German boys may have loved dressing up and parading aroung the theatre stage but less sensitive gay German boys definitely loved dressing up and parading around on a bigger stage with their mates in the SA. (Check out, with eyes wide open, Leni Reifenstahl's stunning and chilling - and thoroughly homoerotic - Nazi propaganda film The Triumph of the Will for confirmation.)
