The Church Cannot Approve of the Perversion of Human Nature...
The Church has always regarded homosexual contacts as a grave sin.
[From the Statement of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.]
Of course, all liberal sophisticates can agree: what would the 2000 year-old Orthodox church know - especially that version of it as practised by those poor benighted and uneducated Russian peasants and priests who were persecuted for their superstitious beliefs, had their churches bulldozed or turned into "museums of science", or were tortured, executed, or sent to the Gulag for professing faith in Christ, by the scientific materialists and atheists who ran the Soviet Union as a "religious opium" free zone and workers' utopia for over 70 years?
Fancy, that mob of semi-ignorant Eastern Europeans religionists daring to tell comfortable, liberal, tolerant, compassionate, enlightened, wise and wonderful westerners where to stick their weltanschauung.
