proudly serving people with no reason to believe
Did they really say that?
The motto of Cliff Walker’s "Positive Atheism" site is
Since September, 1995: serving people with no reason to believe
But on the same page of Positive Atheism there is an link for International Atheists Meetup Day in which atheists worldwide ("1824 have signed up so far.") are invited to:
"Meetup with other local Atheists to talk about your beliefs."
It would surely seem logical that if one has no reason to believe there would be very little point in getting together to talk about your beliefs with others... especally as one is continualy bombarded on the Net with the following statements from atheists [actual quotes]:
“Atheism is merley the absence of belief in God or gods."
"Atheism is not an ideology or a religion. It is simply the absence of a belief. I don't think it is correct to lump it in together with ideologies and religions."
"Atheism is just a lack of belief in god."
Oh to be a fly on the wall at Starbucks on Tuesday, March 18, listening to the non-believers talking about their beliefs. Of course I do not doubt that in reality atheists have a lot of beliefs - some of them irrational - and mostly revolving around their intense hatred for Christianity and their utter disdain for the giant blue turtle, the invisible pink unicorn or the the great blue blancmange. After several hours of putting the boot into the Bible perhaps they will consider that they are not waving but drowning...
